Course Description
The Armed Security Certificate program teaches basic and advanced skills needed to perform optimally and excel in the field of armed security. This top-level security training class is taught in person by experienced AGB instructors. Upon successfully completing the class, students will receive a certificate stating that they meet the training requirements necessary to apply for a 230 Firearms Certification through the Illinois Department of Finance and Professional Regulations (IDFPR).
In-Person Class
This top-level security training class is taught by experienced AGB instructors at our state-of-the-art training center located at 7545 S. Western Ave. in Chicago. The class takes approximately 20 hours to complete over two consecutive Thursdays and Fridays, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Prerequisites
Candidates must be at least 21 years old to work as an armed security guard and complete 20 hours of UNARMED security guard training before taking this class.
Career Path
This course can provide entry-level workers in the security industry with the training to become an armed security officer.
