Course Description

The Armed Security Certificate program teaches  basic and advanced skills needed to perform optimally and excel in the field of armed security. This top-level security training class is taught by experienced AGB instructors at our state-of-the-art training center located at 7545 S. Western Ave. in Chicago. The certificate meets the training requirements necessary to apply for a 230 Firearms Certification through the Illinois Department of Finance and Professional Regulations (IDFPR).

The class takes approximately 20 hours to complete and is taught over two consecutive Thursdays and Fridays, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The lecture portion of the class will be held online. After registration, you will receive a link to the virtual class.

This course also includes an in-person session for range qualifications. You will need a gun for the range training. If you do not have one, please bring $20 to cover the rental fee.

Prerequisites

Candidates must be at least 21 years old to work as an armed security guard and complete 20 hours of UNARMED security guard training before taking this class.
