20-Hour Unarmed Security Officer Certificate
If you are considering a career in the security industry, this course is a great place to start. The 20-Hour Unarmed Security Certificate course provides 20 hours of basic training for entry-level positions as an unarmed security officer or guard in many parts of the U.S., including the District of Columbia. You’ll learn about the responsibilities of private security officers and the services offered by the security industry as a whole. You’ll review criminal and civil law. You’ll also learn about patrolling and incident reporting.
Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.
Newcomers to the security industry can start by training to become an unarmed security guard. This position is an excellent stepping stone to becoming an armed security officer or a shift leader.
