Description

Course Description

The Microsoft Office Basic Certificate program consists of four separate classes that give students a solid overview of the main software programs in the Microsoft Office Suite. Those software applications are WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT and OUTLOOK. The course typically takes one academic year plus one semester if the four classes are taken one at a time. If completed two at a time, students can finish in two semesters. The certificate program provides textbook explanation and hands-on exercises to teach the fundamental principles of the four applications.

Upon finishing all four classes in the program, the student will receive a certificate stating they have successfully completed the Microsoft Basic Course.

Student Learning Outcomes

Students will learn the skills necessary to complete entry level tasks in most office environments. They also will receive instruction to prepare them for the Microsoft certification exam.  Microsoft offers an official certification exam for graduates of Microsoft programs. Our teaching materials prepare our graduates for success on the official Microsoft certification exam, which they can register for online. The topics covered throughout our course are similar to the information in Microsoft’s exam preparation materials.
